Title: Inside Sales Representative - KPT

Normal Work Location: 8:00am - 5:00pm / Monday - Friday

Normal Working Hours: Eastern Time Zone - Ability to Work from Home after completion of Training Plan

  • Training will be completed at our Hendersonville, NC offices for at least 3 weeks

Immediate Coach: Customer Service Manager

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for preparing custom product sales quotes and interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, and outside sales representatives in the preparation of custom product quotes and clarifying technical requirements associated with the requested product. Responsible for creating quotes for special competitive pricing for standard products. Responsible for maintaining successful customer relationships with house accounts. Works with the other inside sales representatives to secure new cutting tool business including calling and writing with sales proposals and or quotes that include terms. Activities are focused on customer satisfaction, sales generation, and gross profit percentage attainment of business quoted. This position provides a liaison between the outside sales force and inside operations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Understand, develop and grow sales by establishing high levels of customer confidence and positive customer relationships
  • Monitor processes and provide reports on progress and achievement of business objectives; maintain pipelines; and other key initiatives
  • Provide scheduled updates and monitor and ensure that all required actions are updated timely
  • Responsible for customer interaction and relationship management within own account base and as an escalation point for customers
  • Responsible for representing customer requests and perspectives to production and management personnel to plan and execute proper “customer first” support
  • Generate new business inquiries, explore opportunities for Cutting Tool Sales and support RSM and SE staff’s development opportunities in this area
  • Track results of quotes and follow up as required
  • Coordinate with Design and Process Engineering for quote generation
  • Coordinate with marketing in the creation of new products into catalog
  • Create quotes using Excel and SAP and follow guidance regarding gross margin requirements when quoting
  • Use ERP system (SAP or Visibility) in support of inside sales duties
  • Use KINTONE system for requesting quote and design to Corporate

  • A general level of understanding of manufacturing scope of capabilities in producing product

Educational Requirements

  • 2-Year College Degree or a combination of experience and education
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug test
  • Basic math skills with ability to convert American standard to metric

  • Basic: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Database, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing, SAP

Working Conditions: Normal office environment utilizing personal computer, phone and related office equipment. May sit or stand as needed. Constant use of upper extremities. Occasional reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day.
