The Position

Have some opinions on what makes an outstanding digital shopping experience? Want to help grow an inspiring brand? If this is you and you’ve got the skills to make it happen, read on. We’re looking for a Senior Designer to join our creative team and help expand our brand impact.

As part of our team, you’ll work on a lot of projects relating to web design and brand communication/marketing. You’ll need to be able manage projects from concept to delivery, so prior people/project management skills will be helpful. We’re entirely eCom based, so experience in this field is essential. (Bonus points if you’ve got some Shopify skills).

About GLDN

GLDN is out to create the best jewelry experience on the internet (NBD). Our creative team is a small but mighty team that handles all of our design and marketing needs. Thanks to COVID we’re now working remote with no plans to change that anytime soon. As a member of the creative team you’ll get to work directly with everyone on the team from photographers, and copywriters, right up to our CEO. Working on a small team provides everyone here with a lot of autonomy and the ability to make a really big impact. Unlike many other startups GLDN has a goal to grow at a responsible and sustainable pace. Creating a healthy work-life balance for our employees is a big priority for us.

The Details

Location: We are based in Bellingham WA, but open to this role being filled remote

Hours: Full time 40hrs/week

Salary range: $60K-$75K DOE


  • Responsible for the creation of both digital and print creative, from web design to packaging to marketing collateral
  • Participate in the full project lifecycle from ideation, to handoff, to launch
  • High level contributions in brainstorming sessions that drive development of powerful conceptual solutions
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with other brand team members to ensure that the visual design communicates the desired message and is brand aligned
  • Collaborate with the larger creative team via regular design critiques and working sessions
  • Be a leader of process and operational excellence within the brand team. Create initiatives and processes to support your workflow and your team.
  • Contribute to and maintain our design system that’s used across our digital properties
  • Consistently apply brand and style guidelines; ensure compliance with all internal policies and federal/ state/local regulations regarding marketing materials.
  • Manage multiple projects and adhere to established schedules, ensuring quality standards are met


  • Possess a strategic mindset when it comes to creating content; create compelling, on-brand content that’s original, eye-catching, and engaging
  • Strong concepting skills, especially as it relates to customer experience
  • Deep understanding of the emotional drivers that influence consumer behavior
  • Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Excellent visual design skills with the ability to tell a story
  • A collaborative spirit; a “no task is too small or too large” type-of-attitude
  • Ability to organize time and meet deadlines, manage workflow, prioritize effectively; effectively manage downtime
  • Ability to work autonomously once trained on internal, shared workflows and resources
  • Use data and analytics to further refine strategies and our approach - consistently learning from data to increase the effectiveness, reach, and engagement of projects

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design (prefered)
  • 4-5+ years of relevant design experience
  • Expert knowledge of relevant software, such as Adobe CC, Figma, Gsuite
  • Exceptional design aesthetics - typography, color and page layout design
  • Experience designing UX/UI for eCommerce
  • Strong UX strategy background
  • Experience working with design systems
  • Experience working with direct to consumer brands (prefered)
  • Proven track record of successfully leading design initiatives
