Psychiatric and Psychological Specialties, a subsidiary of Life Lab Wellness, is looking to hire an adult psychiatrist to provide Telehealth services for our expanding offices in Illinois and Michigan. This part-time role within an interdisciplinary group private practice is perfect for someone wanting to have a large impact on a growing group.

At PPS, relationship building is our priority and providing comprehensive, collaborative, and compassionate care in the foundation of our culture. Our providers can determine their mix of in-office outpatient clinical work and telepsychiatry services. Our group offers flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, etc.) and empowers our psychiatrists to determine the best course of treatment for each individual patient (whether it be psychotherapy, medication management or both). PPS provides operational, administrative, and technical support so our doctors can focus on clinical care.

Compensation and Benefits Include:

  • Competitive hourly rate between $200-300 an hour depending on experience, specialties, board, and licensure status, etc.
  • 1099 Independent Consultant status.
  • Our credentialing assistant will take care of licensing, insurance paneling, etc.
  • Administrative support provided: psychiatric assistant to screen phone calls, manage prior authorizations, submit paperwork.
  • Flexible schedule – build your own schedule!
  • Psychiatrists are encouraged to focus on their clinical passions.
  • We are very open to moving this position to full-time after 6 months.

  • 30 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 1302, Chicago, Illinois 60602
  • 1030 Miners Road, Suite D, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085
  • Telepsychiatry to both locations.

Position Details / Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Clinical team includes independently licensed psychologist, counselors, dietitians, and personal trainers.
  • Psychiatrist will determine their weekly schedule.
  • Initial assessments 60-75 minutes, follow-up medication management 30-minute or 15-minute options.
  • Position is flexible to split time between outpatient & telepsychiatry or full telepsychiatry.
  • This position does not require after hours on-call.
  • Provide clinical psychiatric services to adults.
  • Provide formal psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and evaluations for pharmacotherapy.
  • Provide psychiatric medication consultation and management consistent with medical and psychiatric best practices and standards of care
  • Actively collaborate with non-psychiatric clinicians in treatment planning.
  • Document and maintain clinical records consistent with the standards of the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Potential to plan and provide staff development on topics related to diagnosis, psychiatric medication management, collaborative treatment models, and ethical and legal aspects of the provision of psychiatric services to clients.
  • Actively participate in weekly staff meetings.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Psychiatrist must be eligible and in good standing to practice in the States of Illinois and Michigan.
  • DEA registration certification, unencumbered.
  • Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry.
  • Familiarity with integrative approaches to psychotherapy and medication management.
  • Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude.
  • Must be able to accomplish tasks independently and work on team projects cooperatively.
  • Knowledge and skills in pharmacotherapy of adults and up-to-date knowledge of research and best clinical practices.
  • Specialized knowledge of the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, trauma, sexual abuse, chronic and severe mental illness, and other issues common to private practice population.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to establish goals, set priorities and work effectively with all staff.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
