Job description

The New Jersey Judiciary Information Technology Office has an opportunity for an IT professional seeking a career in technologies such as Full Stack Development, Predictive Analytics, Chat Bots, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

Successful individual will possess good understanding of full stack development technologies such as Python, Java Script, React, Mongo DB, Java, .NET etc. A basic understanding of machine learning concepts are an added advantage. Candidate will develop and support enterprise grade analytics applications, including full life cycle responsibilities from collaboration with stakeholders to defining business functions, develop predictive models and algorithms, applications & interface design, testing, documentation, recovery planning, and ongoing support.

Our application technology ecosystem includes Java, Java Script, Python, .NET, Mongo DB, React JS, DB2, SQL, AWS Cloud, IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure etc.

Our chatbot and machine-learning platform includes Python, R, Java, IBM Watson Services, Microsoft LUIS, Node JS etc.

Note: This position will qualify for remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. This program does not supersede the “New Jersey First Act”, which requires newly hired Judiciary employees to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

* Develop front end website architecture

* Develop back-end website applications

* Create servers and databases for functionality

* Ensure responsiveness of applications

* Work alongside graphic designers for web design features

* See through a project from conception to finished product

* Design and developing APIs

* Meet both technical and consumer needs

* Stay abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages

Important Note: The selected candidates will be required to work non-traditional work hours on a rotating basis, which will include weekends, holidays, and weather related or other court closings.

Salary range is $80,460.54 - $107,446.62. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.

Job Requirements:

* Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

* Experience with full application lifecycle development methodologies such as Agile/SCRUM

* Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React etc

* Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, and .Net

* Experience with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB

* Experience with Node JS

* Excellent verbal communication skills

* Good problem-solving skills

* Attention to detail

* Analyze use cases, understand user behaviors, identify repetitive and/or error prone manual human processes that can be augmented or automated

* Develop polished, high-impact persuasive reports and presentations that enable strategic decision-making supporting the project’s mission

The selected candidate(s) may be required to work a non-traditional work week, which may include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and three (3) years of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.

A Bachelor's in any field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.

An Associate's in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and two (2) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for a the required education.

An Associate's in any field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.

A Master's in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education OR one (1) year of experience.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
