Job Description*
Speech-Language Therapists in the PresenceLearning Network: *
- Provide school-based evaluations and IEP-directed therapy services.
- Provide timely documentation of therapy sessions, create and/or update IEPs, and complete comprehensive evaluation and progress reports as required by state and district regulations and processes.
- Provide case management services as required by the school district(s), including scheduling, preparing for, and conducting IEP meetings.
Providers in our network:
- Work on our proprietary platform built for teletherapy.
- Access therapy materials and assessments within the PresenceLearning platform.
- Enjoy the benefits of a community of support including an online community, technical support, and access to professional development resources.
- Set their own schedules.

Qualifications
- One or more valid state license as an SLP
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- 1 year of IEP directed therapy and evaluation experience in a school setting (excluding the Clinical Fellowship Year)
- Schedule flexibility and interest in working across time-zones
- Experience participating in IEP meetings, acting as case manager, completing educational eligibility determinations and comprehensive reports
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Strong computer skills and comfort with technology
- Reliable Wi-Fi/Internet Access
- Reliable computer with a webcam

It was a great job, but was promised that I would be onboarding more members of my team. They kept promising me and promising me that it was coming. After a year, I got tired of doing the work of two people. Overall, it was a great job. I just don't know why we didn't hire more people.

I am working in CA from FL. My schools have amazing teams. I am very part time and treasure the control over my schedule and caseload. The platform and library of activities are amazing. There is a substantial amount of onboarding training you must complete (unpaid). Just a word of warning, when I was hired in April for the following school year I was told I could turn down any position that didn’t seem to be a good fit as there were so many opportunities for what I wanted. Well, I turned down the first two in August and then nothing. At the end of September I was finally offered a position which I accepted. Overall, I’m pleased and the culture of both the schools and the company are great.

I had solid a manager and worked with several good co-workers. I thought the pay was underwhelming, but it may have improved since I was there. They were still expanding at that time.

PresenceLearning has grown tremendously since I started with them several years ago, and I have been so impressed with how they continue to focus on clinicians and how we work. There are a couple of schools that I have returned to year after year, but then every year I add a new school or two, and I love that variety! The platform is amazing--my students are engaged and make great progress. Just like working for school districts in-person, "IEP season" can get pretty busy and sometimes schools ask for things to be completed on a pretty short timeline, but I appreciate that I have a lot of control over my schedule and when I've hit my caseload limit, I just let my clinical manager know that I am not open to any more assignments or student referrals. So much better than when I was working on the ground in a school district and I had no control over my caseload!

Cons:
I'm not an employee, so no medical benefits, but being an independent contractor allows me much more freedom overall to work as much as I want.
