Company reviews
"Great company benefits. "
Former EmployeeFinance Associate
The benefits are great here and the way they cared for employees during Covid was amazing. The only issue is job advancement. It’s nearly impossible to get off the phones unless you are a brown noser or white.
Pros:
Cons:

"Great Place "
Current EmployeeOperations Representative
Fidelity Investments is a very inclusive company that cares for their employees. The pay is reasonable for the job I am doing. The work may be a bit repetitive, but this is expected based on my position. Fidelity has many different types of positions available. Depending on the type of person, something that fits exist within this company.
Pros:
Cons:

"Good place to work if you like talking on the phone all day"
Former EmployeeCustomer Service Representative
Great culture, and people are great. However, it’s a pretty boring career. You sit down and talk on the phone for 9 hours a day helping old people reset passwords.
Pros:
Cons:

"Lots of challenges, but unless you are a team lead or architect, your input is not desired"
Former EmployeeSenior Developer
I worked on an extremely large cloud based project. My team consisted of 7 pretty knowledgeable people. The only people whose opinion matters are those of the team leads and the architecture group. If you aren't one of those, you would do well to keep your mouth shut, don't offer suggestions, and do what you are asked to do. You will see this across the board when you attend large technical meetings - no one will offer input except those with seniority and standing. Everywhere you go in the office, you will see posters proclaiming Collaboration, Collaboration and Collaboration - in practice, you will see what I call top down collaboration - information comes down from closed door collaborative meetings - it does not go up. Because the environment is "Inclusive", you will need to watch what you say and how you say it - your teammates are encouraged to and will turn you in if you go out of bounds. If you don't mind working head down on whatever you are asked to do and are not one to readily offer suggestions, you would be extremely happy here. If not, you will be semi-happy and have a very high chance of being laid off. If you are a contractor and wish to become full time, you will have to accept that Fidelity does not pay more than around 100k for any developer, regardless of experience. Their benefits package is very good, especially if you are younger. If you are looking for long term stability, this is a great place for those that are not overly ambitious or passionate. Good work will pay off in recognition, not pay.
