Job description

A progressive Washington, D.C. research firm is seeking full-time research intern starting immediately. Due to the startup nature of our research company, a dedicated self-starter who is eager to learn on the job with training, responsive to positive direction and constructive feedback would be ideal for this position. We work closely with political organizations and candidates, so an interest in electoral politics is preferred. The position will be provided with a monthly stipend as compensation. The position is optional-remote with the choice open to work remote or in-office located in downtown Washington, D.C.

Key Objectives:

  • Assisting research staff with building qualitative and quantitative PowerPoint presentations

  • Editing and formatting documents such as memos and toplines

  • Taking notes during focus groups

  • Aiding in managing virtual focus group logistics

  • Coding focus group transcripts to help analysts develop findings and key takeaways

  • Assisting in logistics for research studies

  • Help collecting external public opinion research around clients and topics of interest

  • Conduct other projects or tasks as necessary to assist the team


Position Roles:

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preference for attainment of bachelors degree in Political Science, Marketing, Mass Communications, Economics, Statistics, Humanities, or a related concentration required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially succinct and concise reporting.

  • Ability to coordinate work timing and sequencing with other researchers efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours when the project or client-need necessitates.
