Position Overview:
Our Payroll Consultants are responsible for understanding complex client needs and configuring our applications to meet those needs. Duties begin with an in depth consultative needs analysis which is used to define system setup and configuration which will optimize client time, efficiencies, processes and reporting. The Payroll Consultant III will ensure accurate conversion of payroll and human resource data from clients' previous providers, by balancing converted data to reports and tax returns and work cohesively with clients utilizing system output reports to confirm and test setup. Once data is successfully converted, the Payroll Consultant III will provide first level support to our clients' until their transition to our Client Services team. Paylocity is committed to providing our clients with a high level of service; this position is responsible for maintaining this commitment within our Implementation area.

Reports To: Implementation Leadership Team, Enterprise

Responsibilities:
  • 100% responsibility for a seamless onboarding experience for complex clients
  • Provide industry leading customer service
  • Use a project management and consultative approach to promote an integrated implementation across all products
  • Conduct an introduction call to verify contracted products, understand client priorities and craft a suggested timeline for the implementation of all products
  • Conduct an alignment call to answer product questions, collect payroll data for configuration, review data extracted information, confirm company related information and introduce subject matter experts who will assist with higher complexity products
  • Coordinate internally between the client and multiple Paylocity subject matter experts
  • Facilitate the entry of previous payroll provider data
  • Follow balancing procedures to ensure all converted data is accurate
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure all setup work has been completed accurately, review reports and support clients for initial processing of payroll
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of Paylocity's products and partnerships to ensure clients realize maximum benefit of our system
  • Analyze, interpret, research and resolve complex payroll, benefit and human resource policy issues to provide client satisfaction
  • Identify and document potential improvements to Paylocity procedures such as training, documentation and system enhancements to increase client and employee retention and satisfaction
  • Conduct proactive meetings through conference calls and possibly onsite meetings to identify business needs
  • Mentor and coach peers
  • Technical and procedural support resource for Implementation
  • Some travel up to 20% required
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in payroll service bureau, benefits center or as a payroll/HR/Benefits Administrator
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including advanced in Excel concepts such as Vlookup, ASAP utilities, formulas and calculations
  • Knowledgeable of payroll related legislative requirements (taxes, withholding orders, etc.)
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Proven knowledge of custom services, GL services and vendor relations
Preferred Skills:
  • 1+ years of experience in payroll Service Leadership
  • In-depth understanding of the integration of Paylocity products and services
  • CPP certification preferred
Soft Skills:
  • Proactively generates new ideas, supports change and solves problems creatively
  • Possesses strong leadership ability

The company right now is unwilling or unable to embrace change and is seeing high turnover, burnout, and general job dissatisfaction as a result. In the past the role was able to handle both email and phone volume but post covid, and their growth, this is no longer the case. The company, despite many pleas, is unable or unwilling to separate the phone and email queues and as such, clients frequently call in upset email issues are not being resolved. For beginning account managers, your support is minimal and Training does not do a good job of explaining the myriad tasks you are expected to know. It's difficult to find answers to anything but the most basic question, and you will *never* feel like you've ever caught up or are anything but drowning in work.

This company seems so great. They will try to sell you on the amazing culture. The culture is inconsistent depending on what team you are on. Management is also inconsistent and unreliable. Only there for you if it benefited their pocket. The sales policy has so many gray areas and nothing is done by management when teammates take advantage for their own good. Also, sales policy is not clear and concise when it comes to commissions and they totally took advantage of every single sales rep when new fiscal began. Reps expecting thousands in commissions ended up with negative balances and no one seen it coming. Ironically this happened in the same month that they made a new acquisition. You can thank the sales reps for paying for this. This place is filled with empty promises and fake people around every corner. Also, their service and implementation teams have tanked, leaving the sales team dealing with nightmare issues that ultimately effect relationships and sales that you work so hard on. They will sell you so hard on the referrals you will get but all them bridges have been burned so good luck with that.
