As an AEP Sales Agent at SelectQuote Senior, you'll receive real-time, warm leads daily with ZERO cold calling. Using the SelectQuote platform, you'll provide consumers with a variety of Medicare product options, saving them time and money during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) from October to December.

We offer a competitive base pay ($18 an hour) and commissions that result in a first-year target compensation of $70k. Many Agents earn well above 100k, with some quickly reaching over 200k. Last year, our top Sales Agent made close to $300k. Other incentives include prizes, spot bonuses, and award trips. Don't let the “sales” aspect scare you - many of our successful Sales Agents had no prior sales experience. In fact, our top AEP Sales Agent two years in a row had no sales background before joining SelectQuote.

What You Need to be Successful:

  • Coachability & willingness to learn - You'll go through an extensive training program to prep you about Medicare, sales, and SelectQuote, so you need to be willing to absorb this information and put it to use once you're on the phone, as well as be open to constructive criticism about how to improve your process.
  • Competitive personality & internal motivation - You need to have the drive to overcome customer objections and compete with yourself and other agents to succeed and hit new goals.
  • Time efficiency & technology skills - Be efficient with your and your customer's time. Learn when to move on from a call and when to continue the discussion. Be able to multitask and manipulate multiple screens, including our software system, quote engine, and carrier applications, while conversing with the customer.
  • Self-directed – Top remote agents are comfortable working independently and communicating using virtual communication tools.
  • Positivity - It's important to be positive in this role and not let your previous call affect your current or future calls. The next call can be the one that gets you a sale!
  • Flexibility - You need to be able to commit to high-volume hours during peak season. Our agents make nearly ⅓ of their income during a 7-week period, and we need all hands on deck dedicated during this time.

Training, Experience, & Necessities:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent is required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Life & Health resident insurance license - If you're not already licensed, you must become licensed by a given deadline.
  • Ability to complete AHIP and additional onboarding requirements by a given deadline
  • Hardwired high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 20mbps and upload speed of 20mbps

Quite an experience, first off this is my personal experience it may be better for others based on how well you do in training and the manager you get. I loved working from home and the pay is decent. Working on the phone s and sitting all day can be tedious, I think they hire way to many people classes are Huge not enough 1 on 1 , attention this is not good if it’s your first time in insurance way to much to learn. It’s all so crammed in the amount of time given , plus it’s easy for your attention to wonder or you to fall asleep w 2 hour q and a’s . I got a manager who basically would not answer very many questions. You have to be self sufficient. What I didn’t like was all the inconsistencies. One day they email you instructions the next day they change them and many plans are crosswalked so you won’t be paid on them too many to learn. To many guidelines on how to make a commission w rules of engagement they mess w your head and make it hard to make a true sale. It’s a freaking maze. I don’t care how much they pay it’s not worth it to me. I felt the transparency and culture of the company were not what I thought, I believe there were several contradictions. Say one thing but did another. I’m out not playing stupid games. You can get in trouble.

The training was ok, definitely rushed and questions really weren’t answered when asked so it will leave you unprepared unless you spend time off the clock researching on your own. Some functions used in the actual production site are not available on the training site and they literally went ran through them which again will leave you unprepared. The leads that they claim you’ll get aren’t actually what you get. You WILL be calling the same ppl 3-4 times a day. They will put you on automatic outbound auto dailer when calls are slow and yes they do get slow during AEP so don’t let them trick you with that either. Management sucks, you barley get help when needed even through direct IM you will get ignored. The ONLY thing decent as of right now is the pay which after AEP will go down to minimum wage.

They have the best Medicare Advantage sales and trading if you ate looking to get into that part of the insurance industry. Very intense, detail and you have to put in the work to get licensed and learn it all. It's worth it. It can be the start if a career in the insurance industry not just another job.
