Research Scientist – Health and Human Performance
Job description
The Health Technology team at Meta is seeking a Research Scientist who will support clinical algorithm development for health and human performance. The Research Scientist – Health and Human Performance will work closely with interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, engineers, product managers, and other research scientists to plan and execute research and validation of novel digital approaches to measuring and improving health and wellness. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of lab-based cardiovascular and exercise physiology/human performance testing and expertise in informing the development and validating consumer health algorithms, including from wearable biosensors. A successful candidate in this role is highly collaborative as well as self-driven, passionate, and able to execute consistently in a fast-paced environment.

Research Scientist – Health and Human Performance Responsibilities:

Lead lab-based physiological testing as part of research and validation of novel digital health tools measuring and improving health, wellness and human performance.
Provide domain expertise to support the successful development, execution and interpretation of data from a broad range of Health Technology study protocols focused on health, wellness, and human performance.
Partner across clinical research, engineering and product, providing health and human performance expertise to inform product development teams (e.g. cardiovascular/exercise physiology).

Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in research and measurement of health and human performance. This may include cardiovascular and/or exercise physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology or other relevant fields and experience.
Experience in designing and executing studies evaluating digital or consumer health technologies related to measuring physiological health and/or human performance.
Experience working in fast-paced environments with interdisciplinary research and/or technology development teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in digital/consumer health research and product development, with demonstration of success working with researchers, engineers and product teams.
Knowledge of relevant regulations governing digital health technologies (e.g. HIPAA, FDA, GDPR).
Experience contributing to the development of health/human performance algorithms based on wearable biosensor data.
