Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Laboratory Instrument Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for generating new and repeat business by maintaining existing accounts, prospecting new clients and networking throughout the medical/laboratory instrument industry and channel partners. This position is responsible for increasing and achieving overall sales and profit goals assigned to the manufactured and distributed laboratory instruments.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Support the company's vision and mission statement and participate in the company's continuous improvement program (LEAN);

Trouble hoot and provide results analysis of laboratory instruments and molecular diagnostics;

Se-up and participate in sales and product training seminars / demonstrations on-site at the customer’s facilities, or on-site at company’s facility;

Meet assigned targets to generate profitable sales and strategic objectives in assigned product, accounts/market segments;

Follow-up on all marketing generated leads within 48 hours, following introduction of such lead;

Visit hospitals, universities, public health laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, cannabis growers/processors, food companies aligned with instrument design targets, to understand their testing activities, analyze their needs and present company instrument solutions to provide customer value and increase sales;

Document and report on segment and pipeline performance KPIs;

Collaborate with marketing department in building segment brand and product awareness through planning, supporting and implementing product presentations and training;

Support and mentor company sales representatives, to assure their proficiency in representing assigned instrument products;

Sell laboratory instruments directly, through reagent rental agreements and 3rd-party finance partners;

Stay current on new products and technologies;

Transport instruments as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline;

At least 5 years of experience in laboratory/medical instrument sales through distribution channels and direct sales;

At least 3 years of experience in molecular diagnostic instrument sales;

Experience with Salesforce, preferred;

Exceptional organizational, time management, multi-tasking and attention to detail skills;

Astute oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Ability to thrive and grow working alone;

Access to a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record.

Compensation:

$75K - $85K base salary, for this full-time, exempt position;

Performance reviews every 6 months with salary increase potential based on merit;

Working Hours:

8:00AM – 5:00PM, Monday through Friday

Use to be a good place to work. About once a year they clean house. Several people are fired for no apparent reason. Human resource will say what you want to hear, then turn her back on you. Gossip is a regular part of the job. You can be a dedicated employee and it doesn't help you advance. Required overtime is a part of the job.
