Job Description

  • Remote Part-time Real Estate Instructors are responsible for all aspects of live online course delivery for Texas Real Estate courses. These individuals will serve as subject matter experts and student advocates while delivering exceptional live online classroom experiences to Kaplan students.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a real estate industry expert
  • Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and ability to engage students in a virtual classroom environment
  • Maintain a strong focus on mentoring and driving student success
  • Effectively manage virtual classroom dynamics
  • Address student questions throughout live online classes and in follow up as requested
  • Run class time schedule in accordance with established itinerary and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Provide appropriate handouts, books, and course material as needed to students
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and operate within state and national regulations
  • Maintain regular communication with management to stay informed of scheduling, curriculum updates, and course changes

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Texas Real Estate License
  • 5+ years of real estate industry experience
  • Ability to meet state regulatory requirements for Texas real estate instructors
  • Strong presentation and teaching skills
  • Proficient with Google and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to effectively utilize technology and troubleshoot, as needed
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Teaching experience in a virtual setting and course content creation a plus

I was an online English teacher at Kaplan. I really enjoyed my time teaching there. Although I never got to meet any of my coworkers, I received a lot of support from them through email and other communication platforms. The environment is very fast-paced. There are new students joining the class every week. Hoever, the material we taught was designed in a cyclical way, meaning there was a certain amount of material we taught in a 10 week period. After the cycle was complete it started from the beginning. This helped us with integrating the new students in the class knowing we did not have to worry about covering previous material.

Taught English with Kaplan on and off for 3 years. I enjoyed it. My only complaint is that few teachers are given full-time opportunities, so teachers have to work at other schools at the same time, making them more tired for class. If teachers could be given the opportunity to be full-time, teaching multiple classes of one ESL level, it would be great.
